WHO

Who are you? Probably the simplest and hardest question we’ll ever be asked. Let me give it a shot.

My name is Hajer. I was born on October 17, 1989. (Yes, go Libras!)

I am jumble of stuff: half Filipino, half Egyptian. So technically, I’m half Asian, half African. And now also officially American.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and a lot of my extended family still lives there. After going to college at the University of Santo Tomas, where I took BS in Tourism (if you’re wondering, yes, it’s a real course!), I moved to Dubai where my Mom and other family members currently reside. I lived there for about six months before moving to West Haven, Connecticut in the USA for school. I went to the University of New Haven for my MBA and then moved to Guilford, CT. I lived and worked there (at a software company) for seven years. Phew, that was a mouthful!

After moving around (backpacking with a carry-on, ha!) for 21 months in the last couple of years, I currently live in the city of brotherly love: Philadelphia! This city is my bro and I really love and enjoy it here! We’ll see how things go :)

I like to connect the dots, contemplate conventional wisdom, and document the special and simple moments of life. I enjoy walking, hiking and exploring, the Anthony-Bourdain-way.

I aspire to be as witty as Oscar Wilde, as sophisticated as Nancy Drew, as wise as Jesus and as genuine as Olaf the Snowman.

Is it cool that I said all that?

If you think so, let’s connect!

I’m on Instagram and Facebook, if you’re into that. If not, let’s email. Whether you have questions, wants to be friends or just think I’m awesome (cough), I’d love to hear from you.
